We acknowledge that our consortium does not yet reflect the diversity we aspire to. This is, in part, a result of longstanding structural imbalances in fields such as engineering. As a step toward meaningful change, we have developed an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) campaign. All consortium members are committed to using this material in outreach activities, including open days, school visits, and university engagements. This campaign is part of our broader, ongoing commitment—shared by all partner institutions—to promote equity, representation, and inclusiveness in science and engineering. By engaging both younger generations and our professional peers, we aim to help foster a more diverse and inclusive research community.
Engineering a better future with you
Imagine a world where the technologies shaping our lives reflect everyone’s creativity and perspectives. Right now, women make up less than a third of engineers and scientists in the EU. Yet diverse teams are proven to design more inclusive, effective, and innovative solutions. From smarter healthcare to greener cities, the challenges we face need every mind at the table. That is why closing the gender gap in engineering is not just fair, it is essential.
When more women pursue engineering, we expand the talent pool, boost innovation, and create technologies that serve society more equitably.
If you are considering a path in science or technology, know this: your ideas belong here. Join a growing movement of women shaping the future through lasers, circuits, sensors, and bold thinking.

Hard-working and smart, nothing else defines a scientist or an engineer. A scientist, an engineer, is someone like you.
There is a legal case for equality, there is a moral case too, and there are a few very practical ones as well. Prejudice or discrimination artificially shrink the talent pool we can train or we can recruit from. Supporting a culture of equality, diversity and inclusiveness ensures the best people, regardless of their gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion, belief or age, will contribute to the success of your business or educational institution.
Diverse teams are also proven to design more inclusive, effective, and innovative solutions. From smarter healthcare to greener cities, the challenges we face need every mind at the table.
If you are considering a path in science or technology, know this: your ideas belong here because our superpower is you!
